A mention of prunes can result in a Mr. Yuk face on some, but prune lekvar filling makes a fantastic kolachi that you have to taste to really appreciate. A perfectly balanced prune lekvar has just the right amount of sweet & tart creamy taste. Lekvar is the old world term for fruit butter or jam, usually associated with prunes, and traditionally prepared in the fall when fruits ripened. Or you may be familiar with the terms Szilvalekvár - plumb jam, or Sliwkowiec - plumb cake. Also available in apricot, apple, blueberry and raspberry.

Please Note: Prune bakes flat in comparison to the walnut flavors, and the filling can run out of the top, sides and bottom. This is normal and does not affect the quality or taste in any way. Even with loss of filling, they still weigh 24 oz as intended.

Net Weight 24 oz. 14" long, can slice into 18-28 servings. Individually wrapped in freezer ready gift box. Freeze up to 6 months. INGREDIENTS: UNTREATED WHEAT FLOUR, BUTTER, WATER, SUGAR, EGGS, MILK, SEA SALT, YEAST. Delicious!

This is the best prune roll I have ever tasted outside of the home made one that my mother used to make. It is so full of prune that it squishes out of the sides. It is the perfect balance of dough and filling. I went back to order another, but they were sold out! No wonder!

Just like Grandmom’s

One bite of this lekvar kolachi sends me back to my Slovak Grandmom’s kitchen. She baked lots of goodies with lekvar filling, but her kolachi was special. The kolachi from Butter Maid Bakery comes the closest to replicating her wonderful pastry.

A taste of home.

I never thought I would find Kolachi rolls like my mom used to make. And then I saw an add for Buttermaid Bakery. I wasted no time in ordering the ones with the fillings my mom always made. They were delicious and I have continued to order for the last few years. Most recently I ordered 3 Prune Lekvar ones. One of my favorites. I have never been disappointed and I will be a customer for many years to come. I look forward to working my way through all of the varieties that are offered.
