Like Mom's Nut Roll

As a child, I used to grind fresh walnuts for my mother to use in her homemade Nut Roll. Butter Maid Bakery Traditional Kolachi's are good, but not as sweet as my mothers. Honey Walnut Kolachi is more like my mother's homemade version. My personal favorite.

Not the best roll

I love butter maid but this batch of rolls were not good. The pastry was dry and thin and the filling was tough and chewy. I will have to go back to the original kolachi rolls. This was an epic failure for Mother’s Day brunch.
