Certain events/people in your life will leave impressions on your soul that you will relish till the day you expire. My late grandmother, who emigrated from Poland, would make these walnut rolls every Christmas and Easter. A treat that our family looked forward to, never considering that a day would arrive that these nut rolls would no longer entertain our palates. That day arrived in 1969 when my grandmother passed, along with the recipes she kept in her head, as she never had written specific recipes. We tried a couple of vendors of nut rolls, but they were either too dry or lacked filling. 2 years ago, I came across an ad in a monthly coupon circular for the ButterMaid Bakery promoting their baked goods. With their free shipping for 3 items, I threw the dice again and ordered nut rolls, and in short, we have ordered these a few times a year since then for our consumption and for gifts. These quality nut rolls come the closest to the love my grandmother baked. I've attempted to make these, but these nut rolls are labor intensive and finicky to make correctly. Now that we've found ButterMaid, I don't need to keep trying to make a product that they have already perfected. Besides, their apricot kolachi cookies were made in Heaven, and should come with a warning label: DANGEROUSLY ADDICTIVE. There's absolutely high quality construction applied in all their baked goods, and I'm indebted to them for the "memories" every time we unwrap an order. Thank You ButterMaid.
