What the heck is a Rum Ball?

OK, maybe I've not travelled in the right circles, but I've never heard of a rum ball before. They looked interesting, so I ordered them along with some Macaroons and the Italian Rainbow Cake Bites (which I have reviewed both of those as well). These Rum Balls were delicious, with just a hint of a "bite" to the flavor. Needless to say, I will be ordering these again!
